Unique gifts for a special occasion

Mcdiarmid

Hugh McDiarmid

This is considered to be the classic style of a  newspaper caricature. I really enjoy this pen and ink technique where you achieve tonal values by cross-hatching. This produces a much punchier image than using washes of ink and has been my mainstay even in this time of full colour printing. They make outstanding and very stylish and unique gifts. So if you are looking for a standout present for a special person’s birthday or anniversary,  get in touch.

Helmut Kohl as Winston Churchill

This caricature was actually presented to the German Chancellor. In a speech he referred to Winston Churchill’s vision of a “United States of Europe”, so I caricatured him as Churchill.

Watercolour

Now that the quality of newspaper colour printing is good, (which wasn’t always the case) most cartoonists have moved away from black and white images. I still draw my images with pen and ink, then paint them with watercolours.

Watercolour on art paper. Cost is £300 for a framed drawing. Finished frame size is A3, price inc delivery. Payment:  Bacs preferred when the artwork is completed.
